Packet Pick-up and Race Day

REMINDERS for the 2013 Tri-a-Biathlon Challenge:

We are so excited to get the race underway!  Have a look at the process of the Tri-a-Biathlon Challenge packet pick and race day!

Packet pick-up, Fri. Oct. 4:

  • Friday, Oct.4 from 6-8 pm: SLIS gym area.  Look for your name and a bib # will correspond.  Go to the tables listed “Packet Pick-up” and tell our wonderful volunteer your bib#, they will hand you your race packet.  It will include, race maps, pins, bib #.
  • Pinnies will be issued (Blue: Grades 3-6; Orange: Grades 7-8; White: Grades 9-12).  WE WILL COLLECT THE PINNIE AT THE END OF THE RACE- THEY ARE NOT TO BE KEPT.
  • You will recieve a terrific goody bag with all sorts of fun stuff in them that you can keep including an AWESOME tee-shirt.

RACE DAY, Sat., Oct. 5:

  • The start is at Southern Lehigh Intermediate School, next to the main parking lot (by the parent drop off).  This clearly indicated by the balloons.
  • Put your BIB # on your pinnie, so that our timer from Pretzel City Sports can easily identify your #, so that the timing is correct.  It must visible to our timer. THIS IS IMPORTANT.
  • Saucon Valley Bikes will be on hand to check over the bikes and helmets. Prior to Saturday, make sure that you check your bike and it is in working orderThat includes, pumped up tires and chain.
  • Please arrive early enough to get in line to have this done, it does get a bit back up and we want everyone to be able to take advantage of this service!
  • The race will start in waves: 1st wave (white): Grades 9-12; 2nd wave (orange): Grades 7-8; 3rd wave (blue): Grades 3-6 with about 30 sec. increments for each wave.
  • IMPORTANT: Remember your race pinnies.  This indicates the age groups to clarify which race your athlete is running and helps the volunteers know where they are going.
  • All young athletes are REQUIRED to wear a helmet on race day

Parent/Guardian(s):

  • I have attached both maps (bike route and run route) as well as the information page for all detailed information for the race.  Please print out for your reference.  All of this information is on the website as well.
  • Once the race has started, feel free to walk over to the transition area by the small parking lot next to the SL Middle School. There is a small army helping the kids transition into the run race.
  • Next, have a  walk over to the SL Football Stadium behind the middle school.  You will hear DJ dJazzy Glenn Noone playing great music and you will await your young athlete’s spectacular FINISH!  It is truly a sight to see…..
  • We will be having a hospitality tent sponsored by STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME.  There will be bananas, water and other snacks to replenish your TRI-A-BIATHLON FINISHER!

We all should be very proud for having our children participate in such an uplifting and exciting race.  Please feel free to contact me at jen@triabiathlon.com or Trish at trish@triabaithlon.com if you have further questions.  Make sure you “like” us Facebook and/or check our website at http://www.triabiathlon.com/ for any updates for the race.

Nicole Michalik from Season 4: “The Biggest Loser”

Nicole Michalik was on Season 4 of The Biggest Loser, she lost over 100 lbs and changed her life. We hope her appearance at the Tri-a-Biathlon Challenge motivates and encourages you! Here’s what she says now:

“I work like crazy, full time at Sparks, a marketing company in NE Philly, and part time On Air at Q102. Radio is my passion, and I love broadcasting over the airwaves of Philly!  I live in Center City and just love everything about it. I want to lose these last 20 pounds to get the message out there that Health and Fitness is a NEVER-ENDING process. It IS your life, it IS hard, everyday IS a battle, but one that can be won!  It’s important to push yourself beyond your limits so you continually do things you never thought you could do. So you can be the best version of yourself!”
